MADISON – State Representative James Edming (R-Glen Flora) began his third term representing the 87th Assembly District when members of the 104th State Legislature were sworn into office this afternoon. Edming was re-elected by the people of the 87th District this past November.
“I am honored to begin my third term serving the people of the 87th District,” said Rep. Edming. “As I often tell folks, this job is the best I have ever had. I remain humbled by the trust that my fellow citizens continue to place in me to be their voice in Madison.”
As was announced last month, Rep. Edming will serve as the Chairman of the new Assembly Committee on Labor and Integrated Employment for the 2019-20 legislative session. He will also serve as the Vice-Chairman of the Assembly Committee on Small Business Development for the third consecutive session.
“I am thrilled to chair the new Labor and Integrated Employment Committee,” said Rep. Edming. “I am proud to have authored the Employment First Act this past session that made Wisconsin a national leader in promoting competitive integrated employment for people with disabilities. I look forward to working with stakeholders and committee members to continue the work in this important area. I also appreciate the opportunity to continue to serve as the Vice-Chairman of the Small Business Development Committee. Last session I authored legislation that eliminates the initial LLC filing fee for student entrepreneurs. I hope to build upon that and find new ways to promote small business development in our state.”
In addition, Rep. Edming will serve as a member of the Committees on Agriculture, Consumer Protection, Health, Sporting Heritage, Veterans and Military Affairs, and Forestry, Parks, and Outdoor Recreation.
