MADISON – Representative James Edming (R-Glen Flora) honored Sawyer County first responder, James “Jim” Onarheim as the 87th Assembly District’s First Responder of the Year. He was recognized along with first responders from around the state during yesterday’s State Assembly floor session.
“The 87th Assembly District is blessed with many outstanding first responders,” said Rep. Edming. “Since making Sawyer County his home back in 2004, Jim has served the Sawyer County community in many ways including as an Advanced EMT and Assistant Medical Examiner with the Sawyer County Ambulance Service. After reviewing the nominations, it is clear that Jim is well-deserving of the title of First Responder of the Year.”
The citizens of the 87th District that nominated Jim shared that he has worked tirelessly to train and supervise EMS personnel over his many years of service to Sawyer County and is passionate about serving his community. He also works with local organizations such as the Hayward Lions Club to procure AED devices for installation around the county and train people on how to use them.
“Sawyer County is blessed to have someone like Jim who gives so much to the community,” said Rep. Edming. “It was a privilege to recognize him for his many years of dedicated service to the people of Sawyer County.”
