MADISON, WI – Representative Chanz Green (R-Grand View) issued the following statement after Governor Tony Evers gave his final State of the State Address:
“The governor followed a familiar pattern in his State of the State address, blaming Republicans for Wisconsin’s challenges while taking credit for the Republican successes that have helped move our state forward. It is also disappointing that he appears prepared to reject the Republican’s plan to return the state’s $2.4 billion surplus directly to taxpayers, all while defending his reckless 400-year veto that ultimately raised property taxes on Wisconsin families.
At the end of the day, I am grateful this was Governor Evers’ final State of the State address. Wisconsin deserves new leadership, a governor who will work collaboratively and move our state in the right direction.”
