Rep. Milory Thanks Those Receiving 'Schools of Recognition' Awards

Today was the annual awards ceremony for the "Schools of Recognition" at the State Capitol. We are very fortunate in northwestern Wisconsin to have several award winning schools.

To be eligible, the schools receive federal Title I aid because they have a significant number of students from low-income families. These schools must meet criteria including "at least 95 percent test participation, a dropout rate of less than six percent, and an absenteeism rate of less than 13 percent."

Pictured [above] from left to right are Pam Peterson & Lauren Amundson representing Webster Middle School, State Superintendent of Schools Tony Evers, Martha Anderson & Jessica Hedrick representing Webster Elementary School, and Bradley Larrabee representing Spooner Middle School

Northern Lights Elementary of the Superior School District also won, receiving a special award for being a School of Recognition for five consecutive years. Webster Middle School received a special award for achieving ten consecutive years as a School of Recognition.

Thank you to these schools and to all of our educators and school staff who teach our children. You are very much appreciated!

Representative Nick Milroy Assembly District 73
