Guest column from Rep. Nick Milroy

Rep. Milroy: Grateful For Opportunity To Continue Serving Northwestern Wisconsin

I am immensely honored and deeply grateful to have been re-elected as State Representative of the 73rd Assembly District. During a time when a spotlight has been put on our divisions, and partisan politics too often acts as a barrier to progress, I remain committed to serving all constituents of the 73rd Assembly District.

As we are all well aware, it has been a trying and turbulent year. A new legislative session will begin in January and with it comes a fresh start. To protect the health, safety, and well-being of Wisconsinites, it is essential that legislators take advantage of this opportunity and choose to put people over politics. This will be a time to come together, work collaboratively, and develop solutions to our most pressing problems. As always, I am ready to do this necessary work for all residents of our state, but especially for the citizens of Northwestern Wisconsin.

I am optimistic about what we will be able to accomplish together this session. Whether it is improving access to broadband in underserved areas, supporting small businesses, ensuring our schools have the funding they need, or expanding access to high-quality health care, I will be a fierce advocate for the needs of Northwestern Wisconsin. As an avid outdoorsman, a veteran, and conservationist, I am eager to continue my work in these policy areas as well.

With the promise of a vaccine against Coronavirus on the horizon, I look forward to an eventual return to a normal way of life. I realize the last several months have been difficult, more for some than others, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. The new year is around the corner, and with it a hope of brighter days ahead. We have traveled this journey together, and I eagerly anticipate the return of in-person celebrations, area festivals, and a host of other gatherings.

I want to thank each and every one of you for all that you do to make our area of the state so remarkable. We are very fortunate to live in Northwestern Wisconsin and I am greatly appreciative to have another opportunity to serve you.  I look forward to continuing to deliver your messages and concerns to the State Capitol and working together to improve the lives of all. If you ever have a question or concern relating to state government, please do not hesitate to contact my office at Rep.Milroy@legis.wisconsin.gov or 608-266-0640. My office can also be reached at our toll-free phone number, if called from a Wisconsin-based phone, at 1-888-534-0073.

Stay safe, and have a healthy, happy Thanksgiving. Remember to always be kind to each other.
