Rep. Summerfield Reacts To Governor’s State Of The State Address

MADISON, WI – Rep. Rob Summerfield (R-Bloomer) issued the following statement after Governor Evers’ State of the State Address given to the joint session of the Wisconsin State Legislature Tuesday night:

“Governor Evers spoke about bipartisanship tonight even though he rejected our plan without discussion. Choosing to create a plan on his own without talking to the other branches of government is irresponsible. We will continue to work to get the governor to the negotiating table.

“Our budget surplus plan would send $500 million directly back to homeowners in property tax relief, provide $1.5 billion to deliver rebate payments of $1,000 to families and $500 to individuals, and invest additional funding in our schools, including $200 million to help districts manage rising special education costs.

“The bottom line is simple: the governor needs to work with us to deliver meaningful relief for Wisconsin taxpayers.”

Rep. Rob Summerfield represents the 68th Assembly District which includes Chippewa, Price, Rusk, and Taylor counties.
