SAWYER COUNTY — What began as a 911 report of a pickup truck weaving across State Highway 63 near Hayward, WI, ended with the arrest of 57-year-old Richard Matthews of Clear Lake, WI, and, ultimately, a seventh-offense OWI conviction.
According to court records, deputies observed signs of severe impairment, located open alcohol containers inside the vehicle, and recorded a preliminary breath test result of 0.279. Richard was sentenced during a recent court hearing.
