MADISON, Wis. -- Today, the Republican Party of Wisconsin submitted a complaint to the Federal Elections Commission against Brian Ewert, Democrat candidate for the 7th Congressional District, after he failed to disclose his campaign was behind literature advocating for his election and encouraging voters to support him in the August Primary – a direct violation of campaign finance law.
“Wisconsinites shouldn’t trust Brian Ewert’s ability pass laws in Congress when he can’t even follow basic campaign finance laws already on the books.” said Alec Zimmerman, spokesman for the Republican Party of Wisconsin. “Ewert is wrong if he thinks he can operate by a separate set of rules from everyone else and voters in Wisconsin deserve better.”
