RUSK COUNTY -- Nicholas Wisti, 27, of Rice Lake, WI died in a single-vehicle crash early this morning, September 19, 2019, near the Rusk County and Barron County line, according to a press release from the Rusk County Sheriff's Office.
(Press Release) — On Thursday, September 19, 2019, at 2:56 AM the Rusk County Sheriff’s office received a 911 call from a passer by advising of a one vehicle crash with ejection and personal injury on CTH O at the Barron/Rusk County Line in the Rusk County township of Wilkinson.
When Deputies arrived, they located a 1994 GMC pick up truck in the north ditch of CTH O, that had rolled several times. Deputies then located the lone occupant and driver of the vehicle deceased outside of the truck.
Evidence at the scene shows the GMC was Eastbound on CTH O, failed to negotiate a 90 degree corner, entered the North ditch, rolled several times and ejected the driver.
The deceased driver has been identified as Nicholas Wisti, 27 years old from Rice Lake, WI.
The crash remains under investigation by the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office and the Rusk County Medical Examiner’s Office. The Weyerhaeuser Fire Dept assisted in this incident.
