POLK, COUNTY, WI — Rob Rorvick, a veteran law enforcement officer with more than 30 years of public safety experience, has officially announced his candidacy for Polk County Sheriff, pledging to lead with experience, integrity, and a strong commitment to the community.

A graduate of Luck High School and a lifelong public servant with deep roots in western Wisconsin, Rorvick has served in law enforcement since 1994. He currently works as a Sensitive Crimes Investigator with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and previously served for 10 years as a Narcotics Investigator. Over the course of his career, he has also served with the Luck Police Department, St. Croix Falls Police Department, Amery Police Department, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and Chisago County Dispatch.

“Polk County deserves a sheriff who understands our communities, our values, and the responsibility that comes with this role,” said Rorvick. “I have dedicated my career to protecting people, upholding the law, and serving with fairness and respect. I am running to ensure our Sheriff’s Office remains professional, responsive, and rooted in the trust of the people we serve.”

Rorvick’s campaign centers on strengthening community partnerships, supporting law enforcement professionals, and maintaining transparency and accountability in public safety operations. He emphasizes that effective policing in a rural and growing county like Polk County must reflect the needs and values of its residents.

If elected Sheriff, Rorvick’s priorities include:

  • Build strong relationships with local businesses, schools, churches, local law enforcement agencies, fire departments, First Responders, and Emergency Medical Services
  • Strengthening collaboration with public health professionals
  • Ensure deputies, corrections officers, and dispatchers have the resources, training, and support they need
  • Protecting constitutional rights while enforcing the law fairly and responsibly
  • Advocating for responsible budgeting and fiscal transparency

Rorvick also highlighted the importance of addressing mental health challenges through training, partnerships, and treatment-focused responses, as well as continuing proactive efforts to combat illegal drugs and reduce overdose deaths through prevention, education, and enforcement.

Beyond his law enforcement career, Rorvick has a long history of community involvement. He has served as a volunteer firefighter with the Cushing and St. Croix Falls Fire Departments, a mentor and executive board member with Kinship of Polk County, and a youth basketball coach in the Osceola School District. He is married and the proud father of four children, and says his experiences as a husband and father reinforce his commitment to safe neighborhoods, strong schools, and responsible leadership.

Rorvick’s campaign has received endorsements from respected leaders in law enforcement and public service, including Retired Polk County Sheriff Pete Johnson, Burnett County Sheriff Tracy Finch, and St. Croix Falls Mayor Kirk Anderson.

“Trust in law enforcement is built through transparency, communication, and consistency,” Rorvick added. “I am committed to earning that trust every day and working collaboratively to keep Polk County safe.”

Community members are encouraged to get involved in the campaign by volunteering, requesting a yard sign, attending events, or helping share the campaign message.
