Rusk County Man Found Deceased; Two Taken Into Custody Amid Ongoing Investigation

RUSK COUNTY — Two individuals are in custody after a missing persons report led to a death investigation, according to the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office.

On Monday, March 2, 2026 the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office took a report that 56-year-old Terry DuSell from Ladysmith, WI was possibly missing because family hadn’t had contact with him. During the course of the investigation, law enforcement developed a person/persons of interest related to the disappearance to Terry DuSell.

That person of interest was identified as 62-year-old Charles Allers from Radisson, WI, and was taken into custody for an unrelated probation warrant and is currently being held at the Sawyer County jail.

In addition, Terry DuSell’s wife, 55-year-old Elizabeth DuSell, has been taken into custody as a result of this investigation and is being held at the Rusk County jail.

On Tuesday, March 3, 2026 investigators found Terry DuSell deceased.

The investigation is on-going, still very active and there is no threat to the public at this time. We hope to be able to release more information as soon as possible.

The Rusk County Sheriff’s Office is being assisted by the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigations, LCO Tribal Police, LCO Conservation Dept, and the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office.
