HUDSON, WI -- Attorney Sarah Yacoub has announced she will be running for Wisconsin's 30th Assembly District as a Democrat in the 2020 election cycle, according to a press release from her campaign.

(Press Release) -- Hudson resident, Sarah Yacoub, has announced her candidacy for Wisconsin’s 30th State Assembly District.

Sarah Yacoub, started her career as a prosecutor in Los Angeles County where she worked diligently to put gang members and those who victimize innocent people behind bars and used accountability to help young people work through addiction. After starting a family and developing her career, Sarah made the decision to move to the Hudson area to ensure her kids could have a better place to grow up.

Recognizing a local need for services for an underserved subsection of the community in Northwest Wisconsin, she started a non-profit which offers no-cost legal representation to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and low to no-cost family law representation to working families.

“I’m running because in a time when bullies, big money, and political extremism are louder than ever, the voices of the communities in the 30th district have been lost.”  Yacoub said. “While there is growing anxiety about the increasing cost of healthcare and prescription medication, maintaining our access to clean water, inadequate handling of addiction and mental health, and growing a local economy that attracts young families, the current representative continuities to prioritize outside-special-interests and political-insiders. As a mom, former prosecutor, and advocate for victims of crime, I’ve watched how the policies passed in Madison have hurt countless families across Northwest Wisconsin. I’ve watched too many important legislative issues get ignored by our current representative to the detriment of our community.  If elected, I pledge to work with people from all sides of the aisle to ensure that the 30th Assembly District is the best place to raise a family.”

Sarah looks forward to meeting voters across the district in the next year, hearing their experiences and their needs and sharing her vision of a stronger Northwest Wisconsin. You can read more about Sarah’s story and platform at

The election will take place on November 3rd, 2020.
