Sawyer County Judge Blocks Evers Administration's Order Limiting Indoor Gatherings

SAWYER COUNTY — A Sawyer County Judge has ordered a temporary restraining order halting Governor Tony Evers' emergency order limiting public gatherings.

Hon. John M. Yackel entered the order Wednesday morning in Sawyer County Court which is where the Tavern League of Wisconsin filed its lawsuit seeking to block the emergency order.

A court hearing is scheduled for 9a on Monday, October 19, 2020, in which the state can give its reasons why a temporary restraining order should not be in place.
