SAWYER COUNTY — A violent early-morning stabbing in Sawyer County left a man with life-threatening injuries and sparked a multi-agency investigation that has now resulted in felony charges against a Hayward man.
Authorities say officers with the Lac Courte Oreilles Tribal Police Department and the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched around 2:00a on December 18, 2025, to Tamarack Health Medical Center after a victim arrived with multiple stab wounds and severe head injuries. The victim was later transferred to a Duluth hospital due to the seriousness of his condition.
A suspect, identified as 28-year-old Devin Christensen of Hayward, WI, is now facing multiple felony charges, and online court records show that a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
