Sawyer County Sheriff Blasts Attorney General Josh Kaul

SAWYER COUNTY -- Recently, Republican candidate for Attorney General, Adam Jarchow, had an opportunity to meet with Sawyer County Sheriff, Doug Mrotek. In that meeting, Sheriff Mrotek harshly criticized Attorney General, Josh Kaul’s, failure to support the Division of Criminal Investigations (DCI). For many years, the Sawyer County Sheriff’s office was pleased to host a DCI agent. Unfortunately, when that agent retired, Attorney General Kaul did not replace him – it has been more than a year. It appears this has happened in numerous instances across Wisconsin and DCI is now short dozens of agents. Sheriff Mrotek pointed out that under Kaul’s leadership, the lights have literally been turned out in DCI offices in Wisconsin. This failure of leadership by Attorney General Kaul has left local law enforcement agencies without a critical crime-fighting tool.

An experienced attorney, small businessman, and former legislator, Adam Jarchow is running for Attorney General in order to restore transparency and accountability. Jarchow said: “It’s time to back the badge and Make Wisconsin Safe Again. That’s why I recently issued policy proposals to (i) fully fund law enforcement, (ii) create a violent crimes task force at the Department of Justice, (iii) strengthen enforcement when violent, career felons use guns in crimes, and (iv) create a stand-alone division of School Safety. Madison politicians and bureaucrats are failing us. It’s time for an experienced leader to help restore law and order in our state. As your next Attorney General, I will stand shoulder to shoulder with law enforcement and will not allow Josh Kaul’s failures to continue.”
