Update from the previous release -- In previous news release from the Sawyer County Sheriff's Office regarding the Ryan Gedart investigation, Mr. Gedart's last name was incorrectly spelled as Gedhart. The correct spelling is Gedart.

The Sawyer County Sheriff's Office would like to clarify information recently reported in the media regarding the investigation into the death of Ryan Gedhart [sic]. The State of Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting the Sawyer County Sheriff's Office with the investigation into the death of Ryan Gedhart [sic], at the request of the Sawyer County Sheriff's Office.
An autopsy has been performed; the final results of the autopsy are not yet available. Several items have been sent to the State of Wisconsin Crime Lab for analysis. Several people have been interviewed about information that they have about the case.
The Sawyer County Sheriff's Office and the State of Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation believe that the community is safe from harm.
The case remains under investigation by the Sawyer County Sheriff's Office and the State of Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation; no additional information is available at this time.
Ryan Gedhart's [sic] family and friends have our deepest sympathy during this extremely difficult time.
