Schoemann Drops Out Of Wisconsin Governor’s Race Following Trump Endorsement Of Tiffany

WISCONSIN — Josh Schoemann announced Wednesday that he is ending his campaign for Wisconsin governor, just one day after former President Donald Trump publicly endorsed Congressman Tom Tiffany in the race.

In a statement released announcing his decision, Schoemann congratulated Tiffany on securing Trump’s endorsement and thanked supporters for their backing throughout the campaign.

“First, I want to give glory to God for His grace and blessing in all circumstances,” Schoemann said. “I want to congratulate Congressman Tiffany and his supporters for receiving President Trump’s endorsement. I wish Tom great success in November. If we focus on the people of Wisconsin rather than fighting with one another, we can make Wisconsin the place to be, not just be from. I am proud of the campaign we ran and want to give my sincere thanks to my family and supporters who believe in our message. Our fight to reclaim Wisconsin will go on.”

Schoemann’s exit comes one day after Trump announced his endorsement of Tiffany on social media, calling him a “Highly Respected America First Congressman” and praising his background as a businessman, family farmer, and former state legislator.

In the endorsement, Trump said Tiffany would work to grow the economy, cut taxes and regulations, promote American-made products, secure the border, stop migrant crime, strengthen law enforcement and the military, advance election integrity, and protect Second Amendment rights, while putting “Wisconsin, and America, First.”

Following Schoemann’s announcement, Tiffany released a statement thanking his former rival and outlining his priorities as a candidate for governor.

“I appreciate Josh’s kind words and wish him the very best,” Tiffany said. “We are both committed to making Wisconsin the place to be. As governor, I will ensure seniors, young families, and the next generation can afford to stay here by lowering property taxes and utility rates, cutting red tape to reduce housing costs, and delivering honest government and strong schools for every Wisconsinite.”

With Schoemann’s withdrawal, the Republican primary field narrows significantly, solidifying momentum for Tiffany as the GOP race for Wisconsin governor continues ahead of November’s election.
