RUSK COUNTY, WI — Authorities continue searching for a possible drowning victim after emergency crews were dispatched Saturday night to Fish Lake in the Town of Rusk, according to a press release from the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office.

On Saturday, May 9, 2026, at about 9:17 PM, the Rusk County Dispatch center received multiple 911 calls about a possible drowning on Fish Lake in the Township of Rusk.

Rusk County Deputies, Department of Natural Resources, Chetek Fire - Dive Team, Chippewa Fire Protection - Dive Team, Bruce Fire, Mayo Ambulance, Mayo Helicopter, and Sawyer Search and Rescue all responded to the scene.

Search efforts have continued through the weekend and are still ongoing.
