(MADISON) – Senator Patty Schachtner (D-Somerset) is pleased to announce she has been selected as a Friend of Family Medicine by the Wisconsin Academy of Family Physicians (WAFP).
“Providing quality primary healthcare during the COVID-19 crisis has been an incredible challenge, one met with dedication and resolve by our family physicians throughout northwestern Wisconsin,” said Senator Schachtner. “As a healthcare provider myself, I understand the diverse and complicated challenges family physicians deal with every day. As a legislator, I have endeavored to support these medical professionals through legislative action and advocacy. It is an honor to be recognized by this important organization.”
The WAFP represents the interests of 2,900 members statewide, making it the largest physician specialty professional group in Wisconsin. The mission of the WAFP is to promote excellence in health care and to improve the health of the people of Wisconsin through the advancement of the art and science of Family Medicine, the specialty of Family Medicine and the professional growth of Family Medicine physicians.
State Senator Patty Schachtner proudly represents Wisconsin’s tenth senate district with 178,250 constituents. The district covers parts of Burnett, Dunn, Pierce, Polk, and St. Croix counties.
