Wisconsin State Senator Tom Tiffany (R-Minocqua) is 'strongly considering’ running for the soon-to-be-vacant U.S. 7th Congressional District seat.
On Monday, Representative Sean Duffy announced he would be resigning from the seat to help care for a child with 'complications’. Duffy and his wife Rachel are expecting their 9th child.
In a phone conversation on Tuesday, Senator Tiffany said to DrydenWire.com that he is “strongly considering running for the 7th.” Adding that he is “having discussions" with his family, friends, supporters, as well as “gathering support” before making a decision. “I expect to make my announcement soon,” the Senator concluded.
It us not known at this time when a special election will be held. Governor Tony Evers is the one who calls for and picks the date for a special election in a Congressional seat vacancy. Evers has yet to announce when that will be, however, it is likely to be between November 2019, and April 2020.
In April, DrydenWire.com welcomed Senator Tiffany to their studio in Spooner, Wisconsin for an extended interview. You can watch that interview below, or by clicking HERE (YouTube).
