BURNETT COUNTY, Wis. -- In accordance with Wisconsin State Statute 301.46(2m), it has been determined that the following information regarding Martin Day should be released to the local media. Mr. Day will be released to the community on 05/30/17. Mr. Day will be residing at the Trailside Motel, located at 30790 Wisconsin 35, Danbury WI 54830, and will be under the supervision of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
In 2007, Mr. Day was convicted of 2nd Degree Sexual Assault of a Child. Mr. Day will be placed on intensive supervision for a period of time and he will be on Extended Supervision for approximately 10 years; during this time required to reside in Burnett County. Mr. Day will be on GPS monitoring for the remainder of his life while residing in Wisconsin and is required to register with the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry Program for life. Sex offenders have always lived in our communities; but it wasn’t until Act 440 in 1997 which enabled law enforcement to share this information with the community. This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather, it is our belief that an informed public is a safer public.
