WASHBURN COUNTY -- The Shell Lake Arts Center hosted its 19th Annual Middle School Honors Band on Thursday, November 7th, 2019.
The Center received over 300 nominations from 32 different Wisconsin and Minnesota schools this year. Of those nominations, 221 musically talented students were selected to perform in one of the three bands: Red, White & Blue.
Students spent the day practicing within their assigned bands, working to master the complicated techniques required to perform these beautiful pieces, and culminated the day with a public concert in the Darrell Aderman Auditorium.
List of participating middle schools in attendance: Amery, Bloomer, Butternut, Cadott, Cameron, Chetek-Weyerhaeuser, Clayton, Drummond, Elmwood, Frederic, Glenwood City, Grantsburg, Hayward, Hudson, Luck, Meyer, Minnehaha Academy, New Richmond, Northstar, Northwood (Northstar Charter), Prairie Farm, Rice Lake, Riverview, Shell Lake, Siren, Spooner, St. Francis De Sales, St. Joseph Catholic School, Stanley-Boyd, Unity, Viking, and Webster.
