On Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at 2:17 p.m., the Barron County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant at 1071 24 3⁄4 Street, Cameron. Over $100,000 in cash and several drug related items were seized. Three subjects were taken into custody but were later released due to their cooperation. Charges are expected to be filed at a later time.
Another search warrant was served in connection with the first at 4601 Kappus Dr #1 in Eau Claire later that night where one subject was taken into custody and over $14,000 cash and five pounds of Marijuana was seized. This subject was later released due to his cooperation.
Several other subjects are being interviewed and are cooperating with an ongoing investigation into a large marijuana distribution ring in the area.
This case remains ongoing and very active. This is the largest seizure in the history of Barron County.
