Sheriff's Office Releases Details On Fatal Stabbings In Barron County

BARRON COUNTY — The Barron County Sheriff's Office has released details on the deaths of Michael and Michelle Turnipseed, a separated couple found deceased from apparent stab wounds following an altercation, with the investigation ongoing and resources shared for those in need of support.

PRESS RELEASE

Initial investigation into Sunday’s deaths is complete and while follow up is still ongoing we believe the following occurred:

Michael Turnipseed age 53 and Michelle Turnipseed age 51 were separated and there was an active case in the court system but there was not a no contact provision in the pending case.

Michael arrived at the house just after noon with Michelle agreeing to this arrangement.

Sometime shortly after he arrived some sort of altercation occurred and both subjects were found deceased from apparent stab wounds. Michelle was located outside the residence and Michael was found inside the residence with a knife next to him.

Family has been notified and our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Man And Woman Found Dead At Chetek-Area Home

BARRON COUNTY -- Authorities are investigating an incident near Chetek where a woman was found deceased outside a residence and a man was later discovered dead inside, with no danger to the public, according to the Barron County Sheriff’s Department.

PRESS RELEASE

On Sunday, December 15th at 12:50pm the Barron County Sheriff’s Department 911 center received a call of a female laying outside not moving in a pool of blood at a residence just north of Chetek.

Deputies from the Barron County Sheriff’s Department along with Rice Lake Police Department, WI DNR and the Chetek Ambulance responded to the scene.

The Barron County Bearcat was used to approach the residence and a deceased female was located outside the residence. A search of the residence located a male subject in the house deceased. The scene was secured and the WI State Patrol Reconstruction Unit was called in to reconstruct the scene.

The Barron County Sheriff’s Department Detective Division is handling this case and this is an isolated case and there is no danger to the public. Deputies have responded to this same residence for a domestic disturbance in September of this year.

The names are not being released pending notification of the family.
