Single-Vehicle Crash Results In Two Deaths in Barron County

BARRON COUNTY — A 50-year-old Barron woman and a 45-year-old Prairie Farm man died in a single-vehicle crash in Barron County on Saturday. At 6:34a on Saturday, August 17, 2019, a crash occurred on County Hwy O at 9th Ave in Barron County near Barron. The crash resulted in the two fatalities, according to a press release from the Wisconsin State Patrol.

(Press Release) — On Saturday August 17th, at approximately 6:34 AM, the Wisconsin State Patrol responded to a single vehicle crash in Barron County with two ejected, non-responsive individuals. 

Upon arrival of emergency medical personnel, it was determined the two individuals were deceased. 

The initial crash investigation indicates the 2001 Ford Escape was traveling southbound on CTH O when the vehicle traveled into the oncoming lane and into the east ditch. 

The vehicle vaulted on a driveway embankment and struck several pine trees. The two occupants were ejected from the vehicle in the crash sequence. 

The physical evidence and injuries suggested the 50 YOA female was the vehicle operator. The 45 YOA male passenger received fatal injuries in the crash.

Assisting agencies included Barron County Sheriff’s Department, Barron Police Department, Chetek Fire and Rescue, and Barron County Medical Examiner.
