POLK COUNTY - Authorities in Polk County say that a single-vehicle motorcycle crash has resulted in serious injuries to the male driver and minor injuries to the female passenger, according to a press release from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

On Sunday, July 19th, 2020 at 7:11 pm, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a call of a one vehicle Motorcycle accident on State Highway 35 north of 240th Avenue. The lone motorcyclist was southbound on Highway 35 when the motorcycle lost control after entering the shoulder of the roadway, landed on its side, and ejecting both riders.
The male operator of the motorcycle received severe head injuries and was air lifted to Regions Hospital. The female passenger received minor injuries. Both riders were not wearing helmets.
Assisting the Polk County Sheriff’s Office with the crash was Luck Ambulance, Luck First Responders, Luck Fire, Luck Police Department, and Lakes Area Ambulance Service.
The crash remains under investigation by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Names of the persons involved in the crash will be released at a later date.
