Siren Police Arrest Man in Child Enticement Investigation Following Search Warrant

SIREN, WI — A 45-year-old man was arrested Wednesday morning following a search warrant investigation into alleged crimes against children involving inappropriate social media contact with a juvenile male, according to a press release from the Siren Police Department.

PRESS RELEASE

At approximately 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, a Search Warrant was served to an adult male whom had made inappropriate contact via social media with a juvenile male.

The location was in Polk County in the vicinity of Luck, WI.

Siren Police Department was assisted at the scene by Burnett County Sheriff’s Office and Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers arrived and conducted a knock and talk with the subject of the search warrant; Mark Jason Byers, aged 45.

Byers was subsequently arrested and taken into custody at the scene and transported to Burnett County Jail under the following charges:

  • Child Enticement; +13 Years Old Child View/Listen to Sexually Explicit Materials (SS: 948.055(1)&2(B))
  • Use of Computer to Facilitate Child Sex Crime (SS: 948-075(1R))
  • Child Enticement (SS: 948.07(3))

The investigation is pending and is ongoing at this time. More information will be released when it becomes available.
