Siren’s 4th of July Parade Grand Marshalls Rick and Jacky Anderson are 'Insuring our Freedom'!

Siren’s July 4th Celebration includes music, races, parades, great food, fireworks, and more!

Lilac Village Bed & Breakfast will host their second annual garden tour and plant sale on June 29th and 30th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm to benefit Tammi’s Wildlife Rescue. Most plants are just $2.50 to $5.00 each!

DBoys band will be appearing at the July 3rd street dance scheduled from 8:00 pm to Midnight on Main Street in Siren. Admission to the dance is free, being waived in lieu of Siren area business sponsorships. A 50:50 drawing will be held by the 2018 Siren Pageant candidates, with a portion of the proceeds funding the Siren School scholarship given each year by the Siren Chamber of Commerce. Refreshments will be provided by various food and beverage vendors. If rain, the concert will be moved to the Northwoods Crossing Event Center.

July 4th starts with a bang at 8:00 am with the 38th annual Freedom Five 5k Race. Hundreds of walkers and runners will begin their route on Main Street. A Mini-5 Race is also held for participants ages 10 and under with an 8:30 am start at the Siren School. There is still time to register for either race on Monday, July 3rd, between 4:00 and 6:00 pm, or on race day, from 6:30 to 7:45 am, at the Siren School.

The next races of the day are the hilarious Bed Races where participants vie for the 'best time' and 'best dressed bed.' Onlookers cheer their favorite team to not only race their beds down and back on Main Street but also complete the 'special designated task for 2018' designed by the Bed Race director.

Immediately following the bed races, the parades begin. First is the Kiddie Parade where all children get the opportunity to join in. The Grand Parade starts immediately after. In commemoration of their leadership and dedication, Rick and Jacky Anderson will be serving as the Grand Marshalls per this year's parade theme ‘Insuring our Freedom.' The St. Paul Winter Carnival Vulcans and their spouses will also be in Siren for this year's 4th of July parade, having already made one appearance earlier in 2018 for the St. Patrick's Day Parade. You will want to arrive early to the parades as thousands line the parade route.

Prior to joining their regal floats, all attending Royalty are invited by Miss Siren Rylee O'Brien and her court to attend the Siren Queen's Tea being held at 10:00 am in the Gandy Dancer Room at The Lodge at Crooked Lake.

Great food marks every day of the holiday festivities. The Siren United Methodist Church Men's Group will hold a brat sale in the Siren Pharmacy parking lot on July 4th from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. The Blizzard Youth Hockey Association invites you to join them for a pancake breakfast from 8:00 am to 10:30 am on July 4th in Crooked Lake Park. If you like homemade pie and homemade ice cream, the Siren United Methodist Church Women's Group is holding their annual social from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Beginning at 3:00 pm in Crooked Lake Park, the Siren Lions Club will be serving pulled pork sandwiches, brats and hot dogs, along with refreshments for the music concert and fireworks later in the evening.

A special holiday Music in the Park performance features the Siren Community Band with patriotic music selections starting at 8:00 pm at the Crooked Lake Park band shell. Complete your holiday experience with the Siren Lions Club fireworks at the Lake, beginning at dusk.
