Snowmobile Trail Markers Intentionally Damaged In Barron County

BARRON COUNTY — Authorities are investigating reports of intentional damage to snowmobile and ATV trail markers on the Chetek Chain of Lakes and Rice Lake, with similar incidents reported in surrounding counties, according to the Barron County Sheriff’s Department.

Over the last couple of weeks, two local Barron County snowmobile clubs have reported intentional damage to the Snowmobile/ATV trail delineators (markers) on the Chetek Chain of Lakes and Rice Lake.

The suspect vehicle on Rice Lake is a UTV that may have damage, as one of the markers had a 4X4 post that was broken off. Surrounding Counties are reporting the same issue as well. If you have any information regarding who may be doing this, we would like to speak with them.
