SPOONER, WI – At Spooner Health, improving the well-being of the community is more than a goal – it’s a commitment. While delivering exceptional patient care is always the top priority, the organization is equally dedicated to supporting health beyond the hospital walls.
Every three years, Spooner Health collaborates with Washburn County Public Health to conduct a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). The CHNA is used to survey the needs of the community and most importantly, develop solutions to improve the health of the community and its residents.
Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA)
The 2025 CHNA steering committee included representatives from Indianhead Medical Center, Spooner Health, and Washburn County Public Health. Together, they invested significant time analyzing survey data, assessing community health trends, and identifying actionable strategies to address the community’s health needs. More than 20 community organizations participated in a prioritization meeting, offering valuable insights and recommendations to help shape the final plan.
Over the next three years, the steering committee as well as key stakeholders from community organizations have committed to improving the following areas:
- Healthy Living
- Mental Health
- Substance Misuse
The Community Health Implementation Plan (CHIP) was approved over the summer and helps the steering committee stay on track to reach the goals of the three focus areas. Over the next three years, 20+ organizations will meet regularly and work on the strategies identified in the CHIP.
