SPOONER, WI – Spooner Health is now seeking 3 part-time Emergency Department Technicians.
Summary:
Spooner Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Emergency Department (ED) Technician to join our patient-centered care team. This vital role supports patient care under the supervision of an RN, assisting with clinical tasks, documenting patient data in Epic, and maintaining a therapeutic, professional environment from arrival through discharge, transfer, or admission.
The ED Technician promotes teamwork and contributes to positive patient experiences by supporting nurses, providers, and the interdisciplinary care team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform duties outlined in the ED Technician Job Description and competency checklists.
- Register after-hours patients in Epic and assist with patient flow.
- Coordinate facility and ambulance transfers, including preparing transfer packets.
- Complete chart audits, discharge calls, and maintain department supplies.
- Fax, file, and manage essential records, complete daily safety and operational checklists.
Physical & Mental Requirements:
- Ability to lift, move, and support patients and equipment (50 lbs frequently; up to 100 lbs occasionally).
- Frequent standing, walking, and handson patient care.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and emotional resilience in fast-paced or stressful situations.
- Ability to multitask, adapt, and retain information during shift.
Work Environment:
- Possible exposure to odors, communicable diseases, bodily fluids, chemicals, and PPE-related materials.
- Generally safe environment with occasional unpredictable situations.
Qualifications:
- Completion of CNA, CMA, LPN, EMTI, or EMTP program.
- Current CPR certification.
- Basic computer proficiency; Epic experience preferred.
