Spooner Health Now Seeking a Diagnostic Imaging Coordinator

SPOONER, WI – Spooner Health is now seeking a Diagnostic Imaging Coordinator.

Summary:

The Diagnostic Imaging Coordinator is vital in ensuring smooth patient flow and accurate documentation within our imaging services.

Key responsibilities include greeting and registering patients, scheduling appointments, preparing exam folders, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a pleasant phone manner, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Duties also include coordinating with labs, tracking prior authorizations, managing office supplies, and assisting with patient transport.

This position requires flexibility to cover shifts during staff absences or increased patient volume. Physical requirements include walking between departments and assisting with patient mobility.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including proper grammar.
  • Pleasant and professional telephone demeanor.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Sound judgement, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Effective communicator capable of relaying medical information to physicians, patients, and staff.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic; able to interact respectfully with patients, families, visitors, and healthcare teams.
  • Maintains confidentiality and respects patient privacy.
  • Skilled in operating office equipment and using relevant computer software.
  • Performs clerical and non-technical duties for internal and external customers.
  • Physically able to walk between departments and assist with patient transport via wheelchair, stretcher, or escort.
  • Capable of lifting, positioning, and moving patients and supplies as needed.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in a well-lit office environment.
  • Frequent interaction with the public and staff across departments.
  • Requires manual dexterity for handling equipment and supplies.
  • Must have a normal visual acuity and hearing with correction if needed.
  • Physical tasks include bending and lifting items such as linens, supply boxes, and radiology jackets.
