Timothy Wallace, of Spooner, WI, has been charged in Burnett County Circuit Court with two counts of Felony Burglary and one count of Misdemeanor Theft.
According to documents received via public records request, in July of 2016 the Burnett County Sheriff's Office investigated reports of break-ins. The list of items reported stolen included chainsaws, an air compressor, and many power tools. During the course of their investigation, officers discovered some of these items at area pawn shops. A review of video footage from at least one of these shops revealed that Timothy Wallace was one of the individuals who had brought the reportedly stolen items in to be pawned.
Burnett County investigators received a report from Pine County Sheriff's Department about a vehicle owned by Timothy Wallace that was involved in a crash. A search warrant was obtained for the vehicle and officers located many more power tools matching the description of items reported stolen inside the vehicle along with some drug paraphernalia. A victim of one of the break-ins was able to identify some of the items recovered from Wallace's vehicle as belonging to him.
An anonymous tip received by Burnett County Sheriff's Department led officers to a vehicle which Wallace reportedly had left in Hennepin County, MN and which had been towed. A visual search through the windows of the towed vehicle revealed more fishing gear, and tools inside which matched the description of items listed as stolen. A search was obtained and with the assistance of the Minneapolis, MN Police Department, the vehicle was searched and the items recovered.
Wallace was interviewed by investigators in August of 2016, and confessed to taking the items in question and also gave officers information on where to locate more stolen items. Based on Wallace's confession, another search warrant was obtained for a residence and outbuildings in Burnett County and officers located more powers tools and fishing gear reported stolen along with 2 trolling motors and other fishing gear. Investigators had victims of the break-ins review the recovered items and were able to successfully identify more of the items.
Public record indicates that Wallace was convicted in March of 2016 for Possession of Methamphetamine in Burnett County and received a sentence of 3 years of probation. In October of 2016, Wallace's probation was revoked by the Court and he was sentenced to 1 year in county jail. Wallace had also previously been convicted of Possession of Methamphetamine in a Washburn County Case in September 2015 and received a sentence of 3 years of probation. His probation was revoked on that case as well and on November 18th, Wallace was ordered to spend an additional year in county jail for that conviction.
A prior public records request by DrydenWire.com indicates that Wallace worked with the Division of Criminal Investigation and the Washburn County Sheriff's office in the investigation which led to charges being filed against Sarona man, Russell Wilson for Conspiracy to Commit 1st Degree Intentional Homicide and Solicitation of 1st Degree Intentional Homicide.
Wallace is due back in Burnett County Circuit Court on January 5th, 2017 regarding these Felony Burglary charges.
