Spooner Man Facing Multiple Meth Related Charges in Washburn & Burnett Counties

DrydenWire.com reported on April 4, 2017, that Justin Erickson of Spooner, WI was wanted by Burnett County Circuit Court on meth-related charges. Although public record shows that warrant was canceled, on June 5, 2017, another arrest warrant was issued for Erickson regarding 4 counts of Felony Bail Jump filed on May 23, 2017, in Burnett County Circuit Court.

In Washburn County Circuit Court Erickson faces the following criminal charges: 2 counts of Class E Felony Manufacturing or Delivering Amphetamines (More than 3 Grams-Less than 10 Grams); 2 counts of Class F Felony Manufacturing or Delivering Amphetamines (Less than 3 Grams); Class I Felony Possession of Methamphetamine; Class H Felony Bail Jump; Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; 3 counts of Misdemeanor Operating After Revocation; and Misdemeanor Tampering /Failure to Install an Ignition Interlock Device.

In Burnett County Circuit Court, Erickson is facing the following criminal charges: Class G Felony 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety; Class I Felony Possession of Methamphetamine; Class I Felony Possession of Narcotic Drugs; 4 counts of Class H Felony Bail Jump; Misdemeanor Neglecting a Child; Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; and 2 counts of Misdemeanor Operating after Revocation.

Criminal complaints filed against Erickson in Burnett County state that in January of 2017 Burnett County law enforcement assisted the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation with a search warrant at Erickson's residence. During the search warrant officers confirmed that Erickson was living there with Alissa Mortenson and their child.

Officers located multiple items of drug paraphernalia and controlled substances within the residence, including 5.1 grams of methamphetamine in a baggie in Erickson's pants pocket and a broken glass smoking device in Erickson's shirt pocket. The criminal complaint continues stating that investigators also found a glass jar containing nearly ½ a gram of marijuana on the coffee table in the living room and a metal smoking device on the coffee table in the living room and a glass smoking pipe found on the top shelf of the TV stand in the living room; a hydrocodone pill wrapped in cellophane found on a shelf of the TV stand in the living room; a prescription bottle with marijuana seeds in it which was found on a shelf in the master bedroom closet; a metal smoking device found on the bottom shelf of a cabinet in a storage closet near the living room; and various items of drug paraphernalia that were found on the shelves of the entryway near the side door of the residence.

A second criminal complaint filed in Burnett County Circuit Court against Erickson states that hair follicle testing was conducted on his child who was living in his residence at the time of that search warrant and that the results of this hair follicle testing were positive for exposure to amphetamines, methamphetamine, and cannabinoids (marijuana). This complaint states that Erickson admitted to officers that he smoked methamphetamine in the home and that he stated to officers that the mother of his child, Alissa Mortenson, who was also residing in the home, did not smoke methamphetamine in the residence.

Public record shows that Erickson is scheduled to appear on his Washburn County charges again on June 23, 2017; and that he is scheduled to appear again in Burnett County Circuit Court on July 5, 2017.

Alissa Mortenson is also charged in Burnett County Circuit Court with Class I Felony Possession of Narcotic Drugs; Misdemeanor Possession of THC (marijuana); and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She is scheduled to appear again on June 22, 2017.

Spooner Man Faces Felony Meth-Related Charges in Burnett County

Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) along with area law enforcement officers conducted a no-knock search warrant at a residence in Burnett County and located methamphetamine along with prescription narcotic drugs and marijuana.

According to the criminal complaint, on January 11, 2017, a No-Knock search warrant was executed by special agents of the Wisconsin DCI at a residence in Burnett County on Highway 70. DCI was assisted by agents from the FBI along with deputies and investigators from Burnett County Sheriff's Office, Washburn County Sheriff's Office, Sawyer County Sheriff's Department, and Spooner Police Department.

Two adults were located in the home at the time of the search warrant, Justin Erickson, of Spooner, and Alissa Mortenson, also of Spooner, along with their child, born in April of 2012. According to the criminal complaint, although Erickson and Mortenson are identified as being from Spooner, they were residing in Burnett County at the residence in question.

During the execution of the search warrant, investigators located 5.1 grams of methamphetamine in a baggie in Erickson's pants pocket and a broken glass smoking device in Erickson's shirt pocket. The criminal complaint continues stating that investigators also found a glass jar containing nearly ½ a gram of marijuana on the coffee table in the living room and a metal smoking device on the coffee table in the living room. When investigators searched Mortenson's purse which was also found on the coffee table in the living toom they located a smoking device and 2 glass vials with residue indicative of controlled substance use.

Other items listed in the criminal complaint as being located during the search warrant include a glass smoking pipe found on the top shelf of the TV stand in the living room; a hydrocodone pill wrapped in cellophane found on a shelf of the TV stand in the living room; a prescription bottle with marijuana seeds in it which was found on a shelf in the master bedroom closet; a metal smoking device found on the bottom shelf of a cabinet in a storage closet near the living room; and various items of drug paraphernalia that were found on the shelves of the entryway near the side door of the residence.

On March 30th, 2017, charges of Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, Felony Possession of Narcotic Drugs, and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia were filed against Erickson in Burnett County Circuit Court. Public record shows that charges of Felony 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety and Misdemeanor Neglecting a Child were also filed in Burnett County Circuit Court against Erickson on April 3rd, 2017 with the same offense date of January 11, 2017, also listed on those charges. Details of that criminal complaint are not known to DrydenWire.com at this time.

Erickson is also charged with Misdemeanor Operating after Revocation in 2 additional criminal cases in Burnett County Circuit Court. Public record shows that Erickson has 2 more criminal cases open Washburn County Circuit Court; one charging him with one count of Misdemeanor Operating after Revocation, and the other with a count of Misdemeanor Operating after Revocation and a count of Misdemeanor Failure to Install an Ignition Interlock Device.

All of Erickson's new felony charges in Burnett County were filed with arrest warrants which were active as of April 3, 2017, however, he does have an April 12th, 2017 court date scheduled in Burnett County Circuit Court according to public record. Erickson is scheduled to appear in Washburn County Circuit Court again on May 15, 2017.

Mortenson has been charged in Burnett County Circuit Court with Felony Possession of Narcotic Drugs, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. No arrest warrant was filed for Mortenson as of April 3, 2017. She is scheduled to appear in Burnett County Circuit Court on April 12, 2017.
