Spooner Man Sentenced to Prison on Drug Charges

A Spooner, WI man facing drug charges in Washburn County Circuit Court has been sentenced to prison.

Jeremy Englund, of Spooner, WI, was charged with multiple felonies earlier this year after an investigation led by the Spooner Police Department revealed that Englund was allegedly distributing drugs from a residence within Washburn County.

Public record indicates that Englund plead guilty on July 3, 2017, to his charges of Felony Possession of Methamphetamine and Felony Manufacture or Deliver THC (Marijuana).

Charges of Felony Possession of Narcotic Drugs, Felony Possession with Intent to Deliver Non-Narcotics, Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Misdemeanor Resisting or Obstructing had also been filed against Englund; those were all dismissed but read in by the Court for consideration in sentencing.

The Court sentenced Englund to 3 years of initial confinement in State Prison followed by 3 years of extended supervision.

According to public record on June 16, 2017, Englund appeared for a Sentencing after Revocation Hearing on a case that was filed against him in 2014 in Washburn County Circuit Court.

In that case, Englund had been charged with Felony Possession of THC (Marijuana) With Intent, Possession of Narcotic Drugs, Possession of THC (2nd+ offense), Misdemeanor Bail Jumping, and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. In 2015 he was convicted of Possession of THC and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and sentenced to 3 years of probation.

Public record shows that Englund's probation was revoked on May 4, 2017. Englund received a sentence of 3 years confinement in State Prison for his convictions stemming from that 2014 criminal case.

Englund's prison sentences on both criminal cases will run concurrently.

Englund still has pending felony meth-related charges in Sawyer County Circuit Court. The details of that case not known to DrydenWire.com at this time.

On February 27, 2017, DrydenWire.com reported that arrest warrants had been issued for both Jeremy Englund and another Spooner, WI man, Eric Hamer, following the execution of a search warrant at a residence in the Township of Evergreen, Washburn County, WI.

During that search, Warrant Officers located suspected methamphetamine, heroin, and hashish as well as supplies suspected to be used for the manufacturing of drug paraphernalia. Englund and Hamer were both later taken into custody.

Eric Hamer also appeared in Washburn County Circuit Court on July 3, 2017, regarding his multiple criminal charges. Hamer was charged with two counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jump, Misdemeanor Resisting or Obstructing an Officer, and Operating While Revoked.

Hamer plead no contest to his charge of Resisting or Obstructing an Officer and to one charge of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping. The other charges were dismissed. The Court ordered a sentence of probation for 1 year with credit for 10 days served in jail.
