SPOONER, WI -- The Spooner Area School District has issued the following press relase on Thursday afternoon.

The SASD is working with local officials and Wisconsin Department of Safety & Professional Services regarding the 11/10/2021 health and safety issue leading to SMS being evacuated and closed.

At this time, the source of the irritant that made some students and staff members ill yesterday has not been determined. While multiple carbon monoxide level tests show normal levels, the epoxy-like odor is still present in parts of the school.
In the interest of health and safety, SMS will remain closed to students and staff members tomorrow, Friday, 11/12/2021, while additional testing takes place.
School at SHS and SES will continue as scheduled.
