Live Better with the Aging Mastery Program!

Local residents have the opportunity to participate in the Aging Mastery Program® (AMP), a recently developed course that’s improving the lives of people 55 and older. Participants attend a series of fun, engaging classes, track themselves to earn points and rewards, and graduate to become AMP alumni. Feedback from local classes will impact program development throughout the state and nationwide.

“We live longer lives in better health than ever before,” says Darby Smith, Aging and Disability Resource Center supervisor (ADRC). “AMP provides an overview approach focusing on personal growth and community involvement make the most of our longer lives.”

Developed and funded by the National Council on Aging (NCOA), AMP has been successfully helping baby boomers and older adults through a comprehensive, fun approach to life. The ten weeks of 90-minute classes feature local experts sharing their knowledge across a wide range of subjects, including health, finances, life enrichment, relationships and advanced planning. The program combines education with goal-setting, daily practices, and classroom support to help attendees make meaningful, long lasting changes.
