Press Release

The Spooner Police Department is saddened to announce the resignation of K-9 Officer Trevor Peterson.

Officer Peterson served the Spooner Police Department and citizens of Spooner for 10 years. Peterson is leaving to pursue another profession. With the resignation of Officer Peterson, we are also announcing the retirement of K-9 Blue. Bleu has served for 5 years, as the department’s first K-9. Bleu will be living with and cared for by Officer Peterson during his retirement.

Blue and Peterson have been an important part of the Spooner Police Department’s community policing efforts over the years. Hundreds if not thousands of people have attended demonstrations and events featuring K-9 Bleu and the community support for the program has been overwhelming.

We want to thank Peterson and Bleu for their dedicated service and wish them the best in their futures.

The Spooner Police Department is making plans for a new K-9 and handler to serve our community.
