The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody for Possession of Heroin, Possession of Schedule III Narcotics and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The adult passenger was taken into custody for Possession of Heroin. The juvenile passenger under the age of two was turned over to a relative.

Due to the high potential of harm to officers when dealing with a powdered substance in the open air and wind, the vehicle was towed to a secure location. Officer then obtained a search warrant and finished searching the vehicle in a controlled environment with additional safety measures taken.

While executing the vehicle search warrant, officers located additional items related to the use of heroin. Officers also seized and disposed of several hypodermic needles, some of which were uncapped and within the reach of the juvenile passenger.
