Spooner Police: Report of Counterfeit Money Being Passed at Local Business

News Release - The Spooner Police Department took a report of counterfeit money being passed at a local business. The bill, pictured below has several easy to spot indicators on it that it is not real currency. Some of the indicators for this bill are as follows:

• "FOR MOTION PICTURE USE ONLY" Stamped on the front and back.
• Top of Independence Hall cut off on the back side.
• The bill does not have a watermark.
• The Liberty Bell on the front side does not have a crack.

The production or use of counterfeit currency may be prosecuted under Wisconsin Statute Chapter 943.
