SPOONER, WI — Spooner High School students will help bring patriotic spirit to downtown Spooner this spring as part of the community’s celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.
The Spooner Semiquincentennial Committee has partnered with the Spooner School District to organize a Memorial Day window-decorating project along Walnut Street, in cooperation with interested businesses.
Art teacher Christine Sik is coordinating the project with the assistance of students from both the Spooner High School Art Club and the National Honor Society to complete the artwork the week of May 18th. They will return to clean the windows following the holiday weekend.
The project is designed to engage students in the community celebration while adding a festive and welcoming look to downtown Spooner as Memorial Day approaches.
