SPOONER, WI -- At the Board of Education Committee of the Whole meeting on Monday, October 7, 2024, the Board approved the retirement of Superintendent Dr. David Aslyn effective at the end of his current employment contract, June 30, 2025. Below is a statement from Board President Joe Weiss:
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. David Aslyn for his continuing service to the Spooner Area School District as our Superintendent. Dr. Aslyn has informed the Board that he will be leaving us following the completion of our current school year in June of 2025.
As a result, we will soon begin the process of interviewing and selecting a new Superintendent who will begin their duties starting with the 2025/2026 school year. The Board will be seeking input from not only the staff, but also the community when making this selection. This process will begin in the near future- so stay tuned.
In the meantime, your School Board, the Administration, including Dr. Aslyn, and the entire SASD staff will continue to work hard to make Spooner schools the school of choice when considering your child's education.”
