SPOONER, WI — In honor of the United States’ Semiquincentennial, Spooner, Wisconsin is proud to announce a full year of community celebrations planned for 2026. As the nation marks 250 years of independence, Spooner invites residents, businesses, organizations, and visitors to come together in celebration of history, heritage, and hometown pride.
Throughout the year, a variety of events are being planned that reflect Spooner’s unique character and strong sense of community. Activities currently in development include a winter Snow Sculpture Contest, Ice Fishing events, a Fourth of July Pig Roast and Liberty Ball, and special historical and educational programming at the Spooner Memorial Library. Additional events and partnerships will be announced as plans continue to grow.
Organizers are encouraging local businesses, civic groups, schools, and individuals to participate by hosting events, sponsoring activities, decorating storefronts, or creating themed offerings tied to the Semiquincentennial celebration. This is an opportunity for Spooner to showcase its creativity, hospitality, and shared history while strengthening community connections.
Community members interested in getting involved are encouraged to email spoonercelebrates250@gmail.com. Those wishing to participate are also invited to attend the next planning meeting on February 3, 2026 at 5:15 p.m. at The Station Bar & Grill, 301 Walnut St., Spooner, WI 54801.
