Spooner's Farmer's Market Is Growing Like A Weed

Diane's Kitchen is not a cooking show but a 30-minute video podcast in our kitchen with people of interest hosted by Diane Dryden. “We’ll drink coffee and discuss what's going on in the neighborhood.”

Despite uncertain times, the Spooner Farmers Market continues to grow, both in the number of vendors and variety of products. After eight successful years of pulling the somewhat disorganized market together, Lei Jerry, the vendor of "A Fine Pickle" and market manager, has stepped down, turning the market over to two women. Stacy Hall of Greensleeves Farm, and Elaina McMillan of Fresh Roots Farms. Both women have exciting plans for the future of the market. Together, they have created tangible plans to steadily increase the market, both with vendors and consumers. It's a happy place to be on Saturday mornings; a cup of freshly brewed coffee and maybe a blueberry scone with a lemon/lavender drizzle in your hands. But first, Elaina will visit with Diane on Diane's Kitchen and share the plans for the growth and enthusiasm of the market.
