SPOONER, WI — Spooner Area School District Athletic Director Matt Lucius has been named the 2025 District 1 Athletic Director of the Year by the Wisconsin Athletic Directors Association, according to a press release from the Spooner Area School District (SASD).

The SASD has some exciting news to share! Spooner Area School District Athletic Director Matt Lucius has been named the 2025 District 1 Athletic Director of the Year by the Wisconsin Athletic Directors Association.
This award recognizes the outstanding achievement of athletic directors.
Award recipients are recognized as educational leaders who maintain athletics as an integral part of the total educational program while making full use of school and community resources and involving as many students as possible.
Mr. Lucius has served as the SASD AD for fourteen years. His dedicated service has resulted in exemplary athletic programs that are renowned in the Heart O’ North Conference and across the state.
We are proud of Mr. Lucius for his great accomplishments.
