St. Croix Co. Man Arrested For Operating Vehicle Under The Influence, 6th Offense

ST. CROIX COUNTY — Michael Frey, 54, of Glenwood City, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence (6th offense) after a Trooper observed him driving his motorcycle through a roundabout going in the wrong direction, according to a news release from the Wisconsin State Patrol.

(News Release) — Michael Joseph Frey, 54 years of age, from Glenwood City has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Eau Claire Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 6th offense.

On 09-18-19, at approximately 9:46 p.m., a WI State Patrol Trooper observed a motorcycle go through the north roundabout of Highway 128 in the wrong direction. As the Trooper attempted to stop the motorcycle, it nearly crashed as it hit the sidewalk.

The driver was identified as Michael J. Frey and showed signs of impairment. A subsequent investigation, including standardized field sobriety testing, showed that Mr. Frey was operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with this being his 6th offense.

Mr. Frey was arrested and transported to a local hospital for an evidentiary test of his blood and then to the St. Croix County Jail. He is being charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated 6th offense and operating after revocation.

Pursuant to the direction of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicly, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
