State Patrol: 2 Injured in Sawyer Co. Crash During Pursuit of Hit and Run Suspects

At 1:35 PM on Thursday, February 16, 2017, a crash occurred on WIS 77 EB/WB at West of Hwy 63 in SAWYER County near HAYWARD, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol, Spooner Post.  The crashed involved 2 injuries.  The Wisconsin State Patrol issued the following press release to DrydenWire.com.

Press Release - The Wisconsin State Patrol was asked to investigate a crash that occurred during a pursuit of hit and run suspects by the Sawyer County Sheriffs Department and the Hayward Police Department. The vehicle crashed on Hwy 77 West of US 63. The driver was ejected and transported by helicopter to St. Marys Hospital in Duluth, MN with serious injuries. The passenger was transported to the Hayward Area Memorial Hospital by ambulance. No other vehicles were involved. The crash is under investigation by members of the Wisconsin State Patrol Technical Reconstruction Unit.
