State Senator Romaine Quinn Begins Re-Election Run

WISCONSIN — State Senator Romaine Robert Quinn (R-Birchwood) today announced he will begin his campaign to seek re-election to represent the 23rd District in the Wisconsin State Senate. Quinn will begin circulating nomination papers to get on November's election ballot.

“I am proud of the work we've accomplished to deliver meaningful tax relief for working families and retirees, as well as investments in our rural priorities while keeping Wisconsin on sound fiscal footing. It is an honor serving in the State Senate and I am excited to build on that success to continue serving the rural communities of northern Wisconsin in the next session.”

The first step every candidate running for election in Wisconsin undergoes is to circulate nomination papers to collect signatures from supporters in the community.

“As I hit the campaign trail this year, I am excited to reconnect with familiar faces as well as meeting new residents, listening to how I can best represent their concerns, and earning their support as their voice in the State Capitol.”

Quinn noted that he would be running in a district in which the boundaries have changed since his last campaign. Senate District 23 comprises the entirety of Barron, Clark, Price, Rusk, and Taylor counties; and portions of Chippewa, Dunn, and Marathon counties.

“The newly drawn 23rd Senate District is a place I have called home for most of my life. District lines may have changed, but what remains the same is my commitment to representing the values of northern Wisconsin.”

Quinn said this election year is of particular importance to maintain a Republican majority that can work with the next governor to set our state on the right path.

“Right now our state is at a crossroads on how to govern our future. The contrast couldn't be more stark between common sense and the liberal politics Democrats are trying to bring to Wisconsin. Voters deserve a strong, conservative voice to bring leadership to Madison. I have demonstrated that I will defend conservative principles. Now more than ever it is time to stand firm for the values we hold dear.”

When Quinn was elected to the Senate in 2022, he represented over one-third of the population of the newly drawn district. He won 57% of the vote, becoming the first Republican to represent the area in 36 years.

“As a lifelong resident of northern Wisconsin raising a young family with my wife, I understand the challenges families face. I believe it is important to fight for the kind of Wisconsin we want to give our kids.”

Quinn currently serves on the Joint Committee on Finance, which is charged with the review of all state appropriations and revenues, including the state budget. He also chairs the Senate Committee on Insurance, Housing, Rural Issues and Forestry and serves as vice-chair of the Senate Committee on Education.
