BURNETT COUNTY (DrydenWire) -- One person is in custody following an apparent homicide in Burnett County on Friday night, according to a press release from the Burnett County Sheriff's Office.

On September 1, 2023, at 8:32 p.m. Burnett County Dispatch received a call from a male stating he had shot another male at a residence in the Town of Siren. Burnett County Deputies and Siren Police Officers responded.
Lifesaving measures were performed by law enforcement on the gunshot victim. EMS arrived on the scene and continued those efforts.
The victim, Aaron Holmstrom, 37 years old, of Siren, WI was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The suspect, Ashton Heier, 18 years old, of Siren, is in custody.
