Three Barges, Bigger Shells: Shell Lake Fireworks Show Set for Friday

Spectacular July 3 Fireworks Show Celebrating America's 250th Anniversary.

Three Barges, Bigger Shells: Shell Lake Fireworks Show Set for Friday

SHELL LAKE, WI – The Shell Lake Chamber has worked hard to bring you this amazing event with one of the biggest fireworks shows on the water to date. For the 250th anniversary of our nation's independence, we have three pontoons full of fireworks for your enjoyment.

This year a lot of planning, work and testing has gone into bringing more height with the first-ever 8-inch fireworks being shot off a pontoon.  We aim (no pun intended) to bring a spectacular show with firework heights ranging from the explosive fast-firing fireworks at 100 feet, to the big mortars of 400, 500, 600, and now 800 feet, filling the sky with color.

Please make sure to check out all of our wonderful supporters at the end of this article. These businesses, along with all the people who purchased raffle tickets, donated at the annual pig roast, mailed in, or put money in the donation buckets, have made this event what it is today. We greatly appreciate the community's support.

This year, a variety of food and treats will be available all around town. Whether you need a meal or a snack, come out early to support the local vendors and organizations. The American Legion will be in the Shell Lake Pavilion from 12pm-3pm with information on the U.S. Constitution and handing out small American flags. Make sure to stop and show your support as you enjoy the beautiful day.

The Shell Lake Girls and Boys Basketball Teams will be highly visible in their jersey tops, as they have teamed up with the Shell Lake Chamber to collect donations for the July 3rd fireworks program. In return, the basketball team will receive half of all collected monies to be used for their upcoming Wisconsin Dells tournaments July 7th-9th. Please donate to help make both events a great success.

Starting at 8pm on Main Street, we welcome back the band Sushi Roll for their high-energy and family-friendly portion of their performance.

This year, starting at 9:45pm, there will be announcements via a speaker system at the pavilion. Just before 10pm, listen for the loud report (BIG bang) firework signaling the 5-minute warning till the beginning of the fireworks. After the big bang, we will be playing the National Anthem. Warm up your voices and maybe even get a copy of the lyrics (if needed) on your phone to sing along.

The fireworks show will commence on the water from the three pontoons straight down from Main Street. The best viewing will be the direct line of sight of the barges. You may sit all along the beach and hillside in front of the pavilion to enjoy the show.

Following the fireworks, Sushi Roll will continue to play on Main Street until 12am.

This event is only possible with the generous support of many people and businesses from the area. If you would like to help keep this event growing, we kindly ask for your monetary donations.
